Dahi Vada
Ingredients:-
- Urad Dal – 200 ml
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tea spoon
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
For Yogurt / Curd Mixture:-
- Yogurt / Curd – 4 cups
- Salt to taste
- Sugar
- Cumin powder – 114 tea spoon
- Chili powder – 1/4 tea spoon
For Serving:-
- Green chutney & Tamarind date chutney Recipe [CLICK HERE]
- Cumin powder Chili powder
- Chopped Coriander leaves
Method to Make :
- Soak urad dal in water for 7 hours.
- Blend to a smooth fluffy batter.
- To the batter add cumin seeds, salt and mix well.
- Beat the batter till it become light and fluffy.
- Heat oil for frying and slowly drop the small amount of batter.
- Fry till it becomes golden colour.
- Add the vadas to water and soak for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl add yogurt / curd and beat till it smooth.
- Add salt, sugar, cumin powder, chili powder and mix well.
- Squeeze out excess water of all the vadas and drop in the yogurt / curd mixture.
- Refrigerate it for one hour.
Serving:
- Place 2 to 3 vadas in a serving plate or bowl, top it with green chutney, tamarind date chutney, sprinkle some cumin powder, chili powder and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves And sev.
