Dhokla is a Gujarati recipe that prepared with gram flour. This is delicious and easy to digest and may be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch. This recipe also makes for an ideal healthy snack option, it are often prepared using easily available ingredients.

Best and Easy way to make Gujrati Dhokla | August 2021

Ingredients:-

For Dhokla Batter:

  • Gram flour 1 1/2 cup
  • Salt 1/2 tea spoon
  • Sugar 1/2 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tea spoon
  • Eno fruit salt 1 tea spoon
  • Water

For Dhokla syrup:

  • Oil 1 tea spoon
  • Mustard seeds 1/2 tea spoon
  • Green chilies 5
  • Curry Leaves
  • Water 1/2 cup
  • Salt 1/2 tea spoon
  • Sugar 2 tea spoon
  • Coriander leaves (chopped)0
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Method to Make:-

  1. In a bowl, add the gram flour, add sugar, salt, turmeric powder mix everything well.
  2. Add water and mix well.
  3. Whisk everything well, the batter should be of flowing consistency and not very.
  4. Rest the batter for about 10 mins.
  5. Grease a cake tin with some oil thick.
  6. Just before pouring the batter into the cake tin, add eno fruit salt and blend it gently.
  7. Pour the batter immediately into the cake tin.
  8. Heat a pressure cooker/ pot with some water.
  9. Place a stand inside and let the water come to a boil.
  10. Place the cake tin on the substitute the pot.
  11. Close and steam cook the dhokla for about 20 mins on medium low flame.
  12. Prick Dhokla with a toothpick to see if it’s fully cooked.
  13. .Remove the tin and let it calm down.
  14. Heat a pan with some oil, add mustard seeds and let it splutter Add green chilies, and curry leaves.
  15. After few mins, pour water, add salt, sugar.
  16. Bring it to a boil and switch off the stove.
  17. Add juice , coriander leaves and stir well.
  18. Check the dhokla and let it come to temperature.
  19. Take the dhokla from the cake tin and cut it into squares fully cooked.
  20. Remove the tin and let it calm down.
  21. Heat a pan with some oil, add mustard seeds and let it splutter After few mins, pour water, add salt, sugar Bring it to a boil and switch off the stove.
  22. Check the dhokla and let it come to temperature.
  23. Pour the tempered ingredients onto the dhokla.
  24. Let the dhokla soak in the tempering.
  25. Finally garnish it with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
  26. The dhokla is ready to be served.
